"Along the Rocky shore she struggles to survive. To make her way into the great unknown. To sail into the future a place we all must go but cannot see."
This Piece was created as a sister piece to the painting Titled "Ship and Compass"
The Original is an 11x14 Watercolor and ink on Strathmore Mixed Media paper.
This piece like so much of my work is inspired by my love for travel and to see the world. Although I am not a sailor the idea of voyage into the blue intrigues me. The Ship icon repeats in my work for a couple of reason. First the are absolutely beautiful and show the genius of woodwork and engineering of man, as wells as their metaphor. As cliche as it sounds we are all just lonely vessels sailing into the unknown but the people around us create our weather.
